Hello ! currently I'm in btech in 9th sem and I still get 2 more backlog that are going to complete in 11th sem , can I get my degree in 6 years? I'm in punjab engineering college as I'm preparing for govt. Exams in which graduation in must. What is criteria in pec for graduation?
Hello
In Punjab Engineering College (PEC), the duration for completing a B.Tech degree is 4 years , but it can extend depending on backlogs and other academic requirements .
Since you have two backlogs that will be cleared in the 11th semester, it's possible for you to finish in 6 years as long as you clear your remaining backlogs in the 11th semester and fulfill all other academic requirements .
PEC generally allows students to complete their degree over an extended period, but it's important to follow the university's rules regarding the maximum time allowed for completing the course (usually 6 years for a 4 year degree) .
You should confirm with the academic office to ensure you meet all graduation criteria including the number of allowed attempts for backlogs and any specific graduation requirements for government exams .
Hope this helps you .
Thank you
It's understandable that you are concerned about your situation especially with the backlogs and the need for graduation for the government exams you are preparing you can get your degree in 6 years it is possible but it depends on the PEC rules because generally engineering college has a maximum time limit to complete a degree which often range is from 6 to 8 years but since you will be completing your backlogs in the 11 semester which is within 6 years then you might be able to get your degree but it is better to confirm this with the PEC academic department . some University also have provisions for extra semesters or Grace periods which is used to clear back logs but these often come with specific conditions You must have certain number of credits by passing all the required courses in your curriculum and also you must clear all your backlogs you need to also maintain a minimum CGPA said by the University and you should have a clean disciplinary record you can definitely contact the academic cell so that you can get better information about the process and focus on clearing the backlogs as fast as you can also maintain a very good CGPA
