Dear Aspirant,

You could do this easily by dividing the 36 by 2 to get two equal numbers that are 18 and 18. So if you substract 18 from 1936 you'll get 1918. This year fits the given situation as he was 18 year old in 1936. So his father was born 35 years prior to 1918 that is in the year 1893.

So option b is the answer.
