Is maths necessary for a geneticist
Hello Ardra,
No mathematics is not necessary for geneticist. As to become a geneticist you have to pursue B.Sc in Genetics which demand only Physics, Chemistry And Biology in class 12th. You just have to pass your class 12 with atleast 50% marks and then you can become our country's new genetist.
Hope I have answered your query and pray you do well in future.
If you want to be a research geneticist ,clinical geneticist, or a genetic councillor you mainly need to give preference to biology , medical subjects and subjects related to pharmacy. Maths is not necessarily required here. But if you study Genetic Engineering you may need Mathematics. Also you need to pass Mathematics in your intermediate exam to apply for Genetic Engineering.
Thank you.
Yes, Math skills are required for being a Geneticist. Geneticists use complex equations and formulas regularly in their work. They need a broad understanding of math, including calculus and statistics. Geneticists use scientific experiments and analysis to find solutions to complex scientific problems.
