The sulphate of which metal does not form alum
Alums are double sulphate salts with the formula AM(SO4)2.12H2O where
A :- monovalent cation like potassium , ammonium.
M :- trivalent cation like aluminum or chromium.
These crystallise in octahedral crystal structures which can accommodate ions of only specific size.
Size of lithium is very small when compared to potassium and ammonium due to which lithium cannot be accommodated in the crystalline structure.
