What are the eye specifications to become a pilot?
Dear Student,
Greetings.
As long as your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or contacts, you will be eligible for a 1st Class FAA Medical Certificate, which makes you eligible to fly as a civilian professional pilot. This is much less restrictive than military pilot vision requirements. I hope this helps!
Distant vision must be 20/70 uncorrected and 20/30 in near vision uncorrected as minimum.
Both corrected vision for distant andnear must be 20/20.
Also candidates having corrective eye surgery are disqualified
And should not have any past disease ljke Asthma, allergies after age of 12.
