what is the fuction of parenchyma

Parenchyma is the functional tissues in Plants and Animals.
In Plants, Parenchyma makes up most of the cells within leaves, flowers, and fruits. In Animals, “parenchyma” is much more varied. It refers to the cells that perform the biological function of the organs, such as lungs carry out respiration, liver cells that cleans blood, etc.
The functions of Parenchymal cells in Plants are:
- Photosynthesis
- Gas Exchange
- Food Storage
- Wound Repair and New Growth
- Secretion of Sap
- Buoyancy Control ( in Aquatic Plants )
In animals, the functions of Parenchymal cells are:
- Perception, Thinking, Information storage and perception
- Gas Exchange
- Producing Immune Cells
- Secreting Harmones
- Filtering Blood
- Breaking Down Toxins
