So, the total cost varies depending on which institute you attend.
With that said, most charge you for 80 dollars an hour, which roughly translates to 5600 rupees. And to be a commercial pilot, you need to have at least 250 hours under your best, which will amount to more 1750000 for your entire course.
Also, there are a lot additional expenses by the side.
Yes there are a few scholarships available, but it is extremely tough to get considering the competition. These scholarships are provided by Indian domestic carriers. There is also one provided by Indian Govt. particularly, but is defunct at the moment.
Yes, a middle class guy can be a pilot though it would take a toll on the financial condition of the family. If s/he becomes a pilot, the money can be re-accumulated. It all depends on the dedication and the initial struggle.
