What was overall closing rank for Jipmer Puducherry for NRI Students. Is it good idea to apply under NRI Quota (Only 5 seats) or UR Quota.

The closing ranks for JIPMER for the year 2018 was as follows :
1. UnReserved: 156 (for Puducherry campus) , 978 (karaikal campus)
2. NRI : 20 (Puducherry campus)
Rank 20 for 5 seats is quite good. But it is certainly difficult.
At the time of counseling applicants need to produce their own NRI certificate or the NRI certificate of their parent. So it is okay to apply under NRI quota if either one of you has the NRI status certificate from the Indian embassy of your residing country.
