Hello!
In the entrance exam , you can expect questions from 11-12 syllabus and please be aware of new developments in the field.
Read R.G Collingwood, Ideas of History and glean information from a few graduate level text books by R.S Sharma, Sumit Sarkar and Sekhar Banerjee (From Plassey to Partition). I would also suggest you to glance through post-modern theories like the concept of subaltern, queer theory and genocide related things (the department is currently working on these topics). So, please keep yourself abreast of all these topics. Another important thing is English language. You have to write the paper exclusively in English language. Please make your English as transparent and meaningful as possible. Try to make small and lucid sentence. Please avoid jargons and convoluted sentences. There should be a good flow in your language and analytically sound.
All the best:)
