Coming to your question , I would like to tell you that if you had a mindset of doing a government job after completing your bachelors in engineering.
The branches which is best suited for the government jobs are
- Mechanical engineering which has the most vacancy in the government sector
- Civil engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Electrical and electronics
- ECE
By taking these branches you can go for the IES ie ( indian engineering services) as only above branch candidates can give this exam which is conducted by UPSC in a year,
You can also get into the psu like ONGC ,BHEL ,ircon,NTPC , iocl by taking these branches.
