Dear aspirant,

As you have secured 1.4L rank approximately and considering you belong obc category quota and you want to get a MBBS government seat so let me tell you that it's a bit difficult to get this seat in the top colleges because their cut offs are far higher.

However, various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

If your query pertains to Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Orissa then last year the cut-offs at the end of round 1 and 2 were 443 and 426 marks respectively, hence based purely on this you may have chances regarding this, however remember that cut-offs vary every year based on various factors such as seat matrix, total number of candidates appearing for the exam, top NEET score, reservation, etc,

Non locals could take part in the counselling procedure only if they wanted to apply in private institutions such as MS Ramaiah Medical College, Vydehi Medical College, SDM Medical College etc. However, the choice filling dates have been updated till 10th January 2022.

Free education in Ancient India :-

- Teachers were expected to devote their lives to the cause of teaching in the missionary spirit of self-sacrifice, and the society laid down the principal that both the public and state should help the learned teachers & educational institutions very liberally.

- Society realized that “Vidyadana” or the gift in the cause of education was to be the best of gifts, possessing a higher religious merit than even the gift of land. On the occasion of religious feats, students and teachers were invited and donations were given liberally.
