Government Engineering College, Samastipur Admission Process

Government Engineering College of Samastipur or GEC Samastipur. The entrance examination is conducted every year, which serves as a prime pathway for the aspiring students to get admitted into the B.Tech programs run by the institute. 

The institute offers six B.Tech courses in the following specializations: Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The total sanctioned intake for these courses is 420, which is evenly distributed in various specializations. 

Grand traditions for admission eligibility to GEC Samastipur warrant a minimum qualification of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the core subjects. 1. Attend the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Lateral Entry (BCECE LE) exam.

3. Register for the counseling of the BCECE board.

4. During counseling, choose GEC Samastipur and the preferred specialization in B.Tech.

5. If allotted, report to GEC Samastipur for document verification and complete admission formalities.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Tech: Admission to all B.Tech programs at GEC Samastipur is based on the candidate's performance in the BCECE LE examination. The institute offers six B.Tech specializations:

1. B.Tech Electrical Engineering (120 seats)
2. B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 seats)
3. B.Tech Cyber Security (60 seats)
4. B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (60 seats)
5. B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (60 seats)
6. B.Tech Civil Engineering (60 seats)

For these programs, the admission procedures are as follows:

  • Candidates must qualify the BCECE LE entrance exam.
  • Admission is based on a merit list prepared as per BCECE LE scores.
  • Candidates must meet eligibility conditions prescribed by the institute, which generally include 10+2 qualifications in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
