Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the Bihar Engineering University, Patna.

Eligibility Criteria

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Admission Details

Admission is based on the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), which conducts the entrance test in two stages. The first stage is the screening test. The screened candidates appear in the main examination (second stage). Based on the Merit List of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (2nd stage), successful candidates have to go through counselling (third stage). For further details, see the BCECE site. For lateral entry in the second year, one must have passed a Diploma in engineering/B.Sc. and should be in the merit list of BCECE(LE).

Government Engineering College Samastipur is one of the newer government colleges in Bihar estd in 2019 under BEU ( Bihar Engineering University ). The College started in 2019 its own campus in samastipur.
