Kalpataru Institute of Technology (KIT), Tumkur, is a renowned institution based on well-established engineering and management programs. The admission process at KIT aims at deserving candidates in a just way and through the fair, transparent system perceiving the guidance given by the Karnataka Government. The cycle for admission usually occurs in the time of May-June to the academic year of August-September. Applications are generally based on national or state-level entrance examinations determined by the program. For undergraduate engineering courses, admissions are very much inclined towards Karnataka CET, COMEDK UGET, and JEE Main.
The admissions for MBA can also be considered from PGCET, KMAT, and MAT scores. For undergraduates, the basic requirement is the successful finalization of 10 + 2 from a recognized board, with Physics and Chemistry and Mathematics mandatory subjects. The method of selection is meritorious admission obtained through counseling for the B.Tech program. For MBA, in addition to the entrance examination score, the institute may conduct additional rounds of selection before finalizing the admission list. Karnataka Government norms determine all the categories represented in reservations by KIT. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: The institute offers six B.Tech courses with a total of 540 seats for admission. The admissions for these courses are granted on the basis of Karnataka CET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main entrance examinations. The courses include Computer Science and Engineering (180 seats), Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 seats), Information Science and Engineering (60 seats), Mechanical Engineering (60 seats), Civil Engineering (60 seats), and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (60 seats). Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
MBA: KIT has 60 seats for the MBA program. Admissions into this program are done via PGCET, KMAT, or MAT scores. The shortlisted candidates might undergo a few more rounds of selection for the admissions process. A bachelor's degree in any discipline is the basic eligibility requirement.
Ph.D: The doctoral programs available at KIT are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemistry. The admission mode regarding Ph.D. programs might be through a different mode of selection with entrance tests and interviews. Candidates who have acquired the master's degree in the applicable field are permitted to apply.
