Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering (LTCE) and is located in Navi Mumbai. It is one of those institutes in Maharashtra that brace the engineering education process. Admissions are done strictly according to the rules of admission and regulations made by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. LTCE offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various engineering streams thereby catering to wide-ranging interests for which aspiring engineering professionals may be inclined. Usually, the admission process at LTCE goes as per the academic activity calendar, but more often, it commences in the months just after declaring 12th standard results. Admission into undergraduate programs is granted based on scores at the national and state levels. LTCE takes up scores from entrance tests: the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). For all postgraduate admissions directed mostly at the M.E., scores are from GATE.
Generally, the eligibility conditions for undergraduate programs require students to have completed the 10+2 degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. The qualifying examination aggregate score was generally expected to be around 50-60%. For the master's program, applicants should have the appropriate bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from any recognized university. Admission processing at this institute occurs centrally for transparency and against merit. Candidates qualifying in the respective entrance examination must go through counseling organized by the concerned state authorities. The final admissions would be against verification of documents and cut-off criteria set by the institute for different programs.
