The ultimate stage-2 assessment for Master's programmes like M.F.M. and M.F.Tech. is typically a Personal Interview (PI). Unlike some other universities, NIFT does not require a separate Group Discussion (GD) for primary Master's admissions; however, the PI often includes a communication and interpersonal skills assessment.
Only B.Des. candidates who have been shortlisted take the Situation Test (ST). In this practical test, candidates must use a set of resources to create a 3D model in a specific amount of time. Space visualisation, innovative candidate use of the provided material, construction skill, finesse, and the candidate's write-up or concept note are some of the criteria used to evaluate the model. No marks are given for colouring or drawing; the test is completely model-based.
The General Ability Test, or GAT, is a written exam that is usually Computer-Based (CBT) and is designed to evaluate a candidate's fundamental management and technological skills. All undergraduate and graduate programmes are required (B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.M, and M.F.Tech). Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical & Logical Ability, and General Knowledge & Current Affairs are typically included in these sections.
Candidates must have a three- or four-year diploma approved by the AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education, or they must have passed the 10+2 exam from an approved board by the Central or State Board of Secondary Examination (such as the CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards).
It is the required national entrance exam for UG and PG admission to all National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campuses, including Mumbai. The admission process is designed in such a way to examine candidates' general analytical skills.
Maybe because I was from one of the first batches it was difficult and sadly not that amazing for me. Opportunities felt limited and exploration for different fields was also not in place at that point. But I hear now all that has changed.
Faculty with latest industry knowledge. Regular updating of curriculum, with a focus on skill based learning and preparation for employment. Inclusion of minor and elective subjects to ensure holistic learning.
The curriculum is same in all the campuses and pretty good faculties. They are teaching pretty good they always help students in getting the knowledge they have.. though faculty is a bit inexperienced in new campuses like daman and Srinagar but old campuses are amazing in terms of faculty. They will always be available to help you with internships and assignments.
