Swami Vivekanand College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Research Station, Raipur Admission Process

Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Research Institute is popularly known as Swami Vivekanand College. This is a renowned constituent college for specialization in agricultural engineering and related courses. The college provides an extensive range of programs ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate and doctoral degrees, focusing on aspiring agricultural engineers and scientists in the country. It has a well-designed admission process to select only the best candidates among the many who apply for its different programs. There are seven full-time courses in the institution that include two undergraduate programs, two postgraduate programs, and three doctoral programs. For postgraduate admissions, admissions for M.Tech could probably depend on GATE scores, while CAT scores could be used for MBA admissions, and for PhD, usually a combination of both the entrance test by the college and an interview. The college has a student base of 17 efficient staff members. It offers an exceptional platform for real learning and research through its highly developed working facilities, including those laboratories most dedicated to practical learning research at the level of Geo-Informatics and Soils and Water Engineering Lab.

      Academics

We studied the course about Agricultural Engineering. We have three departments :- 1. Farm Machinery and Power Engineering 2. Soil and Water Engineering 3. Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering Professors are well knowledgeable from all departments. Our curriculum is updated and all departments are conducted many workshop to help farmers to reach their goals as we studied about the technical terms for agriculture like food processing, farm equipment and about soil and irrigation system. Job opportunities !! not sure about it. There are some opportunities for line of professor, technical assistant etc.

      College Infra

The infrastructure of our college is good neither small nor big. It is an average building with many facilities and equipment. Separate classrooms for all and other departments. Separate cabins and office for all professors. Specific and separate laboratories for all departments. Have Seminar halls with smart boards and computer lab. They are all in use and well maintained. There are Sports facilities and also have library to access all necessary needs for academics. There is hostel facilities for girls and boys and also have free Wi-Fi. There is also space for parking in front of the building. Hostel Mess have average food and hygiene and cleanliness is well maintained in both hostel and college building.

      Campus Life

Campus of our university is so big as compared to all universities of our city. It has long distance road with greenery, farms, lands, protected cultivations, gardens, different buildings for affiliated work. Have sports complex, ground, etc. Support between students and teachers are well and balanced. It is not so far from the city but accessible to market and all. This campus is just at highway and it is safe and can be handled during any emergencies.

      Placements

There are no placement in our university. If there is any placement it will come after few years or maybe not. The placement of students may be hardly 7 to 8 students. Salary package is less than the average what anybody expecting.

      Value For Money

As it is a government affiliated college and university so it is value for money course. Per semester it cost around 10000 for UG courses and 15000 for PG courses. It's worth for some but not for everything. Trainings and workshops are good . But professors here are so busy with their work they didn't have time for taking classes. Only some professors are taking classes regularly. No doubt they are knowledgeable and excellent but not taking classes regularly and complete courses.

      Academics

While my B.Tech in agricultural engineering broadened by knowledge base, I look forward to a more well-framed curriculum. The professors are supportive. I don't think it makes us job ready that is why it is hard to get job just after doing UG.

      College Infra

The infrastructure of our college lacks essential amenities, such as well-equipped labs and adequate supplies for experiments. Our classroom is furnished with basic requirements like chairs, tables, etc. The library has a comprehensive collection of books. However, the sports equipment is in poor condition, the hostel facilities are ok for use but the wifi connectivity is very bad. Living spaces are cleaned twice a week by staff, but the quality of food services are ok at least it can be consumed.

      Campus Life

College life is not happening like other private colleges, mostly the campus contains plantation buildings that are less. Students can attend various college functions and inter-college competitions. Our college is near the airport. There is one DSW office for student's concerns.

      Placements

there is no placement activity in our college for UG students mostly students join the college for government jobs. Mostly students went to pursue PG degree after their UG degree in various different fields.

      Value For Money

The college fee is 18500 excluding the hostel and mess fee both of them are cheap. I think it is ok if we talk about value for money because the services are very cheap and the quality of facilities is similar to that.

      Academics

I was studying B.tech Agriculture because I wanted to widen my knowledge and skill sets. The quality of teaching is normal the teachers are supportive of the students who are sincere and want to learn. Our college follows the curriculum that every other agriculture college follows. I am not sure whether it includes all the recent developments in the field or not. It does make us job ready but it is difficult to find one.

      College Infra

Our college doesn't have all the necessary Infrastructure, Facilities and equipment for eg. it does not have well-equipped labs, and lack of necessary reagents for experiments. The facilities in our classroom are very basic with tables, chairs, fans, and green board and some classes have a projector. The library is well-equipped with all the necessary books. Our college has sports equipment but they are not well maintained. The Hostels are OK and the wifi facility is very bad It barely works. Talking about the living spaces, they are being cleaned by workers twice a week, the food service is not up to the mark which usually happens in most of the goverment colleges.

      Campus Life

My college Campus is quite big with a plantation of many plants and trees about which an agriculture student studies, most campus has these things. Students can engage in activities like sports competitions, inter-college competitions, conferences, Tech mela, and other college functions. Mostly staff are good at their work, teachers are well educated, and students mostly belong to middle-class to lower-middle-class families. The location is near the airport quite away from the station but well connected to the main parts of the city. There is one DSW office to look for the concerns of students.

      Placements

There is no placement happening in our college as mostly students come to our college because they wants to get into government jobs and they can prepare for it. Mostly students went to pursue after master's degree after the B.Tech degree. Talking about the package there is no scene of placement or salary package.

      Value For Money

The course costs me 18000-19000 a year, the hostel fee is 2000 for Six months, And the mess fees is around 10,000 - 11,000. I do feel the money is worth the according to the education level and facilities we get.
