Visvesvaraya Technological University Centre for Postgraduate Studies Muddenahalli (VTU CPGS Muddenahalli) is renowned for its various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and technology. The admission process is designed at VTU CPGS Muddenahalli to allow selection of the most deserving candidates for the various courses.

Undergraduate admissions at the institute are primarily based on the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). KCET is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to various professional courses across the state. The postgraduate admission procedure is applicable according to the specific course.

Beginning with the B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA and MCA degrees, a large number of courses are available at VTU CPGS Muddenahalli. There is a total of 13 courses in the institute, with varying intake capacities for each course. The admission process is mostly conducted based on the KCET examinations, which is usually held in the month of April or May each year.

Application Process

Procedures for admission to VTU CPGS Muddenahalli are program dependent:

For B.Tech:

  • Register and appear for the KCET examination, conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority.

  • Upon the announcement of KCET results, eligible candidates could apply for counseling on the KEA website.

  • Fill out the online application form and pay the application fee.

  • Upload all documents required, including the KCET score card, 10+2 mark sheets, and other certificates.

  • The counseling process would then begin, where they can choose VTU Muddenahalli and the preferred B.Tech program.

  • If allotted a seat, report to the institute for document verification along with fee payment within the specified date.

For M.Tech, MBA & MCA:

  • Check the official VTU website for the specific application procedures and deadlines.

  • Register on the VTU admission portal and fill out the application form for the selected program.

  • Pay the application fee through the prescribed mode of payment.

  • Upload relevant documents as required, including graduation mark sheets, entrance exam scores (if applicable), and other relevant certificates.

  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for further rounds of selection as required depending upon the program that may include entrance tests, group discussions or interviews.

  • Final selection depends upon the candidate's performance in entrance tests, academic records, and any further selection rounds.

Degree wise Admission Procedures

B.Tech: Seven B.Tech programs, such as Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, are provided by VTU CPGS Muddenahalli. KCET examination is the basis of admission to these courses. The intake students for each course vary from 30 to 120 seats.

M.Tech: The institute offers four M.Tech programs, namely Aerospace Propulsion Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Nano Science and Technology, and Town and Country Planning. All M.Tech programs have an intake capacity of 18 seats, except for the Town and Country Planning program, which has 30 seats. The selection process for M.Tech may be on the basis of GATE score or a separate entrance test conducted by the university.

MBA: The MBA program offered at the VTU CPGS Muddenahalli has a heavy intake of 180 seats. The MBA admission process may be based on CAT/MAT scores and a group discussion and personal interview.

MCA: The institute offers an MCA program with an intake capacity of 120 seats. Admission for the MCA program may be based on either a state-level or university-level entrance examination from MCA admissions.

  • Recent Passport Size Photographs

  • Valid ID Proof
