About JNU Entrance Exam 2019

Jawaharlal Nehru University conducts its Entrance Test (JNUEE) annually for admission to its various UG and PG courses. The exam is also known as JNU CEE or JNU Admission Exam. JNU 2019 eligibility criteria for different course would be different. Candidates are advised to check the same before applying. For some courses, the University conducts a selection procedure for admission which includes a Viva-Voce Exam after the written entrance exam. While the JNU 2019 admission to some courses is done through the performance in the written exam. 

The Applications for admissions will be released by January 2019. Candidates can fill the application form online. The JNU 2019 application fee for general/OBC category is Rs. 530. The annual entrance exam is conducted in May 2019 and the results will be declared by June 2019.

The exams for different programmes are generally Objective in nature carrying Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Negative marking is not necessarily available for every exam. It varies with the programme.

JNU Entrance Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria

JNU conducts the exam for both undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. The general eligibility criteria for UG exams are - 

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks. Candidates who are waiting for their 12th result are also eligible to apply. 

For PG exams, candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised university or institute with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent. The specific eligibility criteria for different UG and PG exams are different.

JNU Entrance Exam CEEB

JNU CEEB exam is conducted for admission to PG courses in Biotechnology including M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Agri Biotechnology, and M.Tech. Biotechnology. The eligibility criteria may differ with the participating institute offering the programme. 

The general eligibility for the entrance exam is a graduation degree with at least 55% marks. 

Final year graduation students can also apply for the JNU CEEB exam.

For M.Tech. programme, candidates must have a minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university. The graduation includes B.Pharm. or B.Tech/B.E. or M.Sc. in the prescribed list of subjects announced by the University.

JNU application form 2019 will start by January 2019. The application process is only online. Candidates will also get a correction window in January to make required corrections. While filling in the application form, candidates need to enter their personal, academic, and contact information along with the upload of the photograph and signature. 

If a candidate is applying for one subject, the application fee for General and OBC category is Rs. 530; SC, ST and PwD category – Rs. 310, and for Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, the fee is Rs. 110. JNU 2019 exam pattern is different for different exams. Candidates are advised to check the complete exam pattern of the exam they are appearing for. It will allow them to understand the structure of the exam, number of sections in the test, types of questions, subjects/sub-topics/syllabus of the exam, etc. The exams will have both subjective as well as objective questions depending on the exam. Negative marking will also depend on the subject for which the exam is being conducted. 

Candidates would get to know the topics they have to work on after knowing the exam pattern of JNU 2019. To get familiar with the exam, candidates are advised to solve the sample papers or previous year question papers. 

JNU releases the JNU 2019 admit card online in April 2019. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website by entering their login credentials. Candidates are advised to check all the details such as Name, Photograph, Signature, Subject Name, Exam Timing, Name of the Venue & Address, etc. before downloading it. If they find any discrepancy, they are advised to contact the exam authority immediately. 

It’s a must-have document to appear for the exam. Candidates also need to carry a photo identity proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter id card, Driving License) and a passport size photograph along with the admit card of JNU 2019 to the exam centre on the day of the exam. Also, keep the admit card until the entire admission process gets over. 

The exam will be conducted in around 54 centres across the country.

The result of JNU 2019 exam will be announced by June 2019. The result will be available online on the official website of the University for download. Marks obtained and the qualifying rank is mentioned in the JNU 2019 result. 

Candidates need to enter their Application/Registration number, programme, and field of study to check their result. JNU result 2019 will be declared for both Viva and non-Viva programmes. After the announcement of the result, candidates need to register for the admission process which will be held after the announcement of the merit list.

JNU Cutoff 2019 will be released by JNU by June 2019. The cutoff is basically the minimum marks required to qualify for the admission process. The University determines the cutoff based on various factors including the total number of test takers for a particular exam, difficulty level of the test, maximum and minimum marks obtained, previous years’ cutoffs, etc. 

The JNU 2019 cutoff will be different for different courses and categories. The ones who meet the cutoff criterion are eligible to apply for the admission process.

JNU Entrance Exam 2019 Counselling

Mode of Counselling: Offline

JNU conducts the JNU 2019 counselling process after the announcement of the result. The candidates who meet the cutoff criterion are shortlisted for the counselling. As per the exam, all necessary documents including academic certificates, identity proof, work experience certificate (if applicable), etc. will be verified. After that, candidates can take admission for the course allotted to them by paying the course fee.
