Hi Akanksha,
Yes, you can definitely give improvement exam in 2020 along with JEE, there is no such limitation.
Keep in mind that you will have to give improvement exam of all FIVE subjects in order to be eligible for IIT, NIT or GFTI's which are the desired institutes if you are taking a drop year.
