d- electron are not filled monotonically . explain with example
Hello student,
The d - electrons are not filled monotonically with the increase in atomic number. This is because some elements need extra stability and for that they have to deviate from the actual order of filling electrons (in case of elements like Cr and Cu in 3d series. Due to this irregular trend of filling of electrons, the d - electrons are not filled monotonically.
All the best. Thank you.
