Explain the condition of trade and commerce and industry before arrival of british rule
Hi there.
India enjoyed great prosperity in the handicrafts, textile, metal, and precious stone industries prior to the arrival of the British. Due to their high level of craftsmanship and superb quality, these completed items were in demand on the international market. With the beginning of systematic de-industrialization, however, the British invaded the Industrial sector. As colonisers concentrated on expanding the British market, India was reduced to being an exporter of raw resources and an importer of completed goods.
Since ancient times, India has a reputation for trading high-quality raw resources and finished commodities. However, the British government's restrictive measures, such as tariffs, had an impact on international commerce. Composition, structure, manufacturing, and export volume all suffered as a result.
