You need a Masters Degree in whatever subject you want to master in with atleast 55% marks.

You need to appear for a set of enterance exams like SLET (for universitys of the particular state) and NET (across the nation).

To become a College Professor follow these steps

1. Choose the education field in which you want to be a professor.

2. Earn your bachelors degree in that field . For eg. If you want to be a History professor, then earn your degree in Bachelors of Arts (B.A) atleast with 3 papers that are history or 6 papers. Depends upon you.

3. Enroll into a masters course. As mentioned above, a college professors miniumum education qualification is a masters degree. So enroll in a master program.

4. Participate in employment opportunites or internships.

For going into a teaching profession you will require the UG and PG degree i.e B.Ed + M.Ed or B.A + M.A to become a college professor.
The admission to UG courses B.Ed and B.A is generally done on the merit basis i.e based on the marks scored in class 12th examination. But there are a few universities that conduct their own entrance exams so you need to check with the universities itself about the admissio policy.
Also there are different state level exams also.
Also remember the higher degree you have, the better post you get.
