how can a bnys student can prepare for upsc i mean the subject wise and optional for prelims and mains please explain detail how and what subjects will be included in prelims as well as mains
UPSC Prelims consists of two paper, each paper consists of 200 marks GS Paper -1 has the following topics-
History(History of India and Indian Freedom Struggles)
Geography(Geography of India and Concept of Physical Geography)
Polity(Indian Polity and Governance issues)
Economy(Indian Economy and Social Development)
Environment and Ecology(Principles of Environment and Ecology)
General Science(Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technology)
Current Events(It covers all the events of National and International Importance)
General Studies- Paper II(CSAT) is of qualifying nature and consists of the following-
Reading Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem-solving ability
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.
