how should focus on studies... please give suggestions
Hello Aspirant,
It often happens with us that we are not able to attend to our studies on account of distractions, or due to lack of interest. Therefore, you need to develop the skill of being focussed.
Whether you need to finish a task, you can train your brain to stay aware in the moment.
Some of the points you need to keep in mind are:
- To minimise distractions - Voices, honking cars, loud music, or the television can make it hard to stay focused. Find a place where you can study without being bothered, disturbed, or interrupted. If you find yourself distracted, get up and stretch or take a short walk to clear your mind.
- Impose a time limit : Set a timer to encourage you to finish it before time is up. Once time is up, take a break or move onto a different task.
- Force yourself to get back : As soon as you realize that you’re daydreaming or distracted, force yourself to return to the task at hand.
- Improve your sleep : Sleep deprivation can easily disrupt concentration.
- Organize a plan : Develop a daily plan and set realistic goals.
- Never neglect your health : Eat well, get enough sleep, exercise daily, and pick the right time of the day when your energy is high.
Hope this helps you.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Have a good day!!
Hello Aspirant,
Don’t worry my friend, everyone has issues with studies every once in a while. I too have had the issue. However, I did find some interesting ways to stay focused. Here’s some techniques and methods I apply. I hope they help!
- Prioritize studying- Go ahead and put studying near the top of your to do list. When you wake up in the morning, knock out everything you need to do whether it be work, errands, anything that will be in the back of your mind. When you prioritize studying, you will create more time for it. Not to mention, you’ll be able to think clearly with less distractions.
- Change your Method- It’s no secret that not everyone learns in the same way. Some are audio/visual learners. some can read a textbook once and retain all of the information. For me, my success is based on interactive learning. I use Quizlet, because I can make flash cards on whatever I’m studying and can make the learning aspect interactive thanks to games and typing out answers. If simply reading something isn’t keeping you in your studies, switch it up and find a different learning method.
- Get your Sleep- I’ll tell ya, if I don’t get enough sleep, I’m drowsy for most of the day. Definitely not an optimal feeling for studying. So make sure you’re getting your rest! Easier said than done though, I know! Hell, I’m having issues just writing this with full attention and I have a cup of coffee.
- No Distractions- Dude. Put the phone away. Play music if you have to, but I assure you pictures of Suzy’s cats wearing Christmas outfits can wait. Or that dickwad Steve, who keeps sending you game invites to “Mystery Meat Monday Murder Mystery”. These are all things that can wait until after you are done studying. Make the most out of your study time and put the phone away. It will be there when you are done I promise you. Game invites and all.
I hope these few simple tips help you in the long run! Motivation is something that will be there occasionally but not always. It’s up to you and you alone to push yourself into the books. After all, studying is to help you and nobody else. You got this.
