How to join in merchant Navy college
To join a Merchant Navy college, a candidate must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) for officer-level courses like B.Sc Nautical Science, DNS, or B.Tech Marine Engineering. Some rating courses accept students who have passed 10th or 12th. The age limit is usually 17 to 25 years, and the candidate must be medically fit according to DG Shipping rules, which include having good eyesight and no color blindness. Admission to top colleges is mainly through the IMU-CET entrance exam, followed by counselling. Some DG Shipping approved private colleges offer direct admission. After finishing the course, students must complete mandatory sea training and pass the Certificate of Competency (COC) exams to become officers. It is crucial to enroll only in a DG Shipping approved institute; otherwise, the certificate will not be valid.
