how to join Indian Institute of astrophysics

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru offers PhD courses to candidates. The institute offers admission on the basis of the interviews done after the successful submission of applications by candidates.
IIAST does not conduct a written test. The candidates are selected on the basis of applications filled by them. The short-listed candidates are interviewed at IIA Bangalore to have a shot at admission.
The online applications are made available during the last week of September and they are ought to be submitted by the last week of October. The interviews are held during the months of May prior to the submission of forms.
The qualifying degree must be completed successfully by the candidates. They must also have a consistent academic record with 60% or more from class 10 onwards. They must also have either of the following:
- A valid GATE (Physics) for Ph.D Programme / GATE for M. Tech, Ph.D Programme
- Valid JEST qualification
- Valid UGC-CSIR-NET qualification

There are a few ways to get into IIA, Bangalore
Through GATE, CSIR NET, JEST AND IIAST
GATE: You need a minimum of 96 percentile to be eligible for an interview at IIA
NET and JEST qualified students can also apply.
IIAST is conducted by IIA itself, once you qualify for that you don't need to qualify for any other mentioned exams.
