I am a BBA student what are the external courses, I can do along with my graduation which may help me further?
Hello Anusha,
It is really great to see that you are planning to do some courses along with your graduation curriculum. Now, you can do several things -
1) Take up courses to help you with job-related exams after graduation.
2) Take up courses to help you prepare for higher studies.
3) Learn something new for a personal and professional benefit.
1) JOB-RELATED EXAMS -
If you wish to work after graduation then these are a few things you should keep in mind. You can start preparing yourself for government jobs or bank jobs. You will have to sit for various examinations carried out by UPSC, public sector banks, PSC, SSC for jobs in government sector. You can either join coaching classes or go for online courses. Success Point, Brilliance College, A.S. InfoTech Competitive Coaching Institute and IMS are some of the coaching institutions providing courses to prepare you for all these exams. Unacademy provides free courses for the preparation of the government or banking or public sector job exams.
2) FOR HIGHER STUDIES -
In my opinion, after BBA it is best to go for further studies like MBA with specialization. If you want to pursue MBA for your post-graduation it is best to start the preparation as early as possible. Some MBA entrance exams are CAT, CMAT, XAT, SNAP, GMAT, MAH CET, TANCET, etc. CAT stands the best amongst them. The fact that in order to get into top IIMs, CAT is a necessity gives a lot of importance to this exam.
If you wish to sit for CAT you can start light preparations from now only and then in the last year of your graduation you can join a coaching institute who can guide you further and you have the best possible preparation for the exam. Some of the top coaching institutes for CAT are TIME, Endeavour, Alchemist, etc. Meanwhile, you can also find some online courses from Unacademy, iQuanta or Takshzila.
Do not get too preoccupied with these. Devote 2 - 4 hours of your time daily for the practice of the courses apart from your syllabus and keep in mind that the eligibility criteria is 55% marks in graduation to apply to the master’s degree courses.
Apart from management studies, you can also go for CRISIL Certified Analyst Program (CCAP), Executive Program in Applied Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management courses. You can also take up exams like TOEFL or IELTS and move abroad for further studies.
3) Some of the short side courses that you can do while pursuing your BBA are -
- Event management
- Mass communication
- Animation
- English speaking and written course
These courses will enrich your skills and help you become a sounder professional. You can find online courses for free on the given topics.
Apart from putting an effort to advance or upgrade your career do not forget to pay the required amount of attention to your graduation course curriculum. Remember that a high score in graduation will also help you further. Plan wisely and devote a lump of your time to the course you pick do not drain out yourself, stay positive and confident.
Good luck and hope this helps.
