Every college has different procedures for admission. Some colleges accept admission based on the marks scored in 12th boards or the performance in the respective entrance examination. Every year the cutoff changes depending upon the number of candidates applying for the course, category of the candidates etcetra.

You have not mentioned anything here regarding your course and college ,which course and college you are talking about, different different colleges have their own eligible criteria and its differs also for different course
