Greetings Sachin!
Hope you're doing great.
CAT(Common Aptitude Test) is a national level examination which is also considered to be the toughest examination to get into elite b-school in India such as all IIMs, FMS etc.
The toughness of the examination can be determined by the fact that the candidate who scores 100 percentile is only scoring 60% of the total paper. The paper design is divided into three sections i) Reading Comprehension and Verbal ability, ii)Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning, iii) Quantitative Aptitude. Each section carries equal marks and the difficult of papers varies every year.
No doubt, Hindi medium students are at a disadvantage when it comes to the English section of the paper especially in RCs, where the whole passage is in English and question aren't direct. The answers are more logical and cover the entire meaning of the passage. I strongly advise candidate from Hindi medium to practice RCs thoroughly and give adequate time during the preparation. As this section is almost unknown, hence the difficulty can't be determined before the date of examination.
When it comes to Logical reasoning, the question asked in CAT exams are generally twisted and most of the time it becomes difficult for the general English medium student to understand the question. Although, a proper dedication to this section can easily dissolve the myth around Hindi medium student scoring less in the logical part. The same goes with Data Interpretation section as well, questions asked are not direct and one needs to focus on the statements carefully before answering.
The QA part is quite straight forward and more numerical based hence Hindi medium student have no problem as such. Except for a few questions which are more jargon based. Taking the whole QA part, it's the easiest of two when it comes to understanding the question form Hindi Medium perspective.
In the end, it would be wrong to say Hindi medium student is always at a disadvantage. From last many years, students from Hindi background are score decent marks and getting into premier b-school. If you're the one, then it's time to prove your point. Best wishes!
Hope this will help!

Hey,
CAT or Common Aptitude Test is a gateway to study MBA in most of the management institutions in India including the IIMs which are the the best amongst all.Getting admission in IIMs is an achievement in itself.
The CAT exams consists of Quantitative Aptitude,Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning,Verbal Interpretation.
The section of Verbal interpretation includes reading comprehension,,verbal logic,Grammar Correction and Vocabulary.
Therefore it is important to be fluent in English language to ace this examination.
But it is nowhere written that a Hindi Medium student can't crack this examination. If a Hindi Medium student is eligible enough to appear for this examination so can he/she get through it as well. You just need to work harder than others. Work on improving your communication skills. Read newspapers and journals daily.Watch English Movies. Indulge yourself in various English novels. The conventional practice of enrolling yourself in a coaching Institute to learn English won't help. You need to do it yourself. Read up contents as much as possible and try to understand how the sentence is framed. Work on your verbal skills for few months before appearing for the final exam and always be confident of yourself. Once you clear the exam and get admission in a Management institution then you would get the chance of polishing your dialect as it would give you a better environment and exposure.
Remember a thing that any language you speak can never create barriers for you as long as you have the temperament to work hard and learn new things.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
