Hello there
It is really difficult to predict the qualifying cut off of jee mains to be eligible for jee advance as it keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, top score, difficulty level of the exam etc , but on the basis of past year trends you may not be eligible for jee advance with 83. 97 percentile.
For example, last year i.e in jee mains 2019 , 89.75 percentile was required for general category to be eligible for jee advance.

As you have got 83.9788 percentile in Jee Main January Session, your expected rank will be 1.39 lakhs. Total 869010 candidates appeared for the exam. So the expected rank lies within-
(100z-83.9788) * (869010/100).
But the cutoff changes every year, usually for general category candidates it ranges around 85 to 95. Its difficult to tell exact qualifying marks for Jee Advanced but if you are getting 83.9788 percentile score then you have less chances to qualify for Jee Advanced.
