Milk solution A contains 10% milk and milk solution B contains 9 litres of milk. When the two solutions are mixed, the resultant mixture contains 12% milk. If the volume of solution B is one-third the volume of solution A what is the combined volume of the resultant mixtur
Hello harshaljain23456,
Well, Lets say in Solution A - V1 is the total volume, then V1/10 is the volume of milk in solutiion A,
In Solution B - V2 be the total volume, then 9 is the volume of milk, where V2 = (V1 / 3),
After Mixing,
Final Solution will have V1+V2 total volume and out of which V1/10 + 9 is the total volume of milk and the percentage of milk is {(V1/10 + 9)/(V1 + V1/3)}*100=12 as given, and solving this, we get V1 = 150 lts. and V2 = 50 (since V2=V1/3), and total volume is therefore V1 + V2 = 200 lts.
Hope This Helps, and feel free to ask any further query...
