Hi Himanshu,
According to your friend's score in JEE Mains its difficult to get any NIT as he belongs to general category. The minimum percentile required for getting NIT for any branch under general category is 97 percentile.

Hello Himanshu. I would like to tell you that the cutoff of NITs varies as per the branch of Engineering you want to opt for. So I am sharing a link with you which you can refer to check the expected NIT that your friend can get. Since the final cutoff have not been released yet, it becomes difficult to predict the surity.
