Hi Sri Balaganesh.
Your chances of getting admission is very less to no. The cutoff for OBC category is around 4000 and above. So, having a rank of 6407 won't help you.

Thanks...Which is better taking Prod.Eng from NIT, Trichy or Mech from IIITDM, Kancheepuram as my son wants to do PG in Automobiles or robotics?

In that case, I think Mechanical Engineering is better for him. As far as I'm concerned, Production is somewhat related to management, in addition to engineering. So, before choosing any of these 2, learn about these courses, especially production engineering from someone with good knowledge on it. (If possible, meet someone in person). And, in the case of ME at IIITDM, it is more related to manufacturing, robotics etc. than the conventional ME. Learn about that too, as having a clear idea about the course will reall help you in making the right choice.And, if Institute is important for you,which I don't recommend to go by, NIT Trichy is one of the, or the, TOP NITs. IIITDM is new, but, the course there is a specialization course, which may be better for the future.In my case, I'd go for ME at IIITDM, as I'm interested in ME, and it is also a very good institution.
