My son is average student of non medical 10 + 2. Very less chances to do well in jee. What are the options available for him for undergradua
Hello sir
As you said that your son is average
So I wanted to tell you that most of students come under this category .
So don't ever think that you are average and you can not do this.
About JEE it is not a tough exam and most of students who get admission are average .
First of all you should talk to your son and ask about the problems and other things which he is facing ( it may be possible that he doesn't want to do engineering he has interest in some other thing).
Otherwise you should keep motivating him and be with him .
He has still 3-4 months for JEE mains .
So make a proper schedule and time table for study and other work. Atleast give 9-10 hours a day for the study.
Time table should be like :
6to 8 study
8 to 9:30 breakfast and other .
9:30 to 12 study
12to 2 lunch and rest.
2to 4 study 4to 5 rest and snacks
5to 7:30 study
7:30 to 8:30 dinner
8:30 to 10:30 study.
Accordingly he can make his own time table and always get entertained in between so that he may not feel bored. Do not pressurise him and care must be taken that he is happy or not or he is taking study as burden.
He have to be calm and patience because result will not come in 1or 2 days of studying but if he study regularly for 3 - 4 months than he definitely will be in good position and get very good college( NIT IIIT or any other gobegovern funded or private colleges).
Talk to his teacher because he can tell you what the actual situation and what is going on exactly with your son( why he is not focused or other things related to study ).
And he must be focus on the basis of physics ; chemistry and mathematics
Physics : kinematics; rotational; Newton ; current; electrostatic; wave; optics
Chemistry: atomic structure; equilibrium; thermodynamics; organic; p block s block elements
Mathematics: algebra; geometry; permutation and combination ; calculus
Here are some books which he can solve and take as reference:
NCERT ( most important befirb starting anything else or any other book.)
Xam idea
Physics: HC Verma; dc Pandey
Chemistry: op tendon; rc Mukherjee
Mathematics: a Das Gupta; Amit m Aggarwal
You can solve" previous year question " book which contains questions of all the previous year.
Question bank Bank of any one good institute ( Allen ;Bansal; firjee ; vibrant etc.)
And after that cengage of physics and mathematics.
And he should join a test series of any good institute which will analyse and give progress report of him .
And don't go with all the books simultaneously first complete the one book with proper peactpra and than move on. And don't ever frustrate even you doesn't getting success/ marks because it will result in exam ( depending upon your concentration and proper study). And don't get panic during exam.
But he you fail( doesn't get enough marks for NIT OR IIIT) in exam ( by any way or circumstances) than he have a option to take a drop or get admitted in state or other private ( good ) colleges.
Any other query ; you can ask freely.
So good luck.
