JEE Main 2025: College Predictor | Marks vs Percentile vs Rank
New: JEE Seat Matrix- IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTI | NITs Cutoff
Don't Miss: Best Public Engineering Colleges
The greatest motivator is for most of the students is that they dont have any other option, due to not so good financial condition back at home. He/she knows that everyone in his family is counting on him/her.
Many students gets motivated by news in media like Success of Kalpana Chawla (upto XI/XII almost everyone is fascinated by space science or physics) or Students from IIT getting 1-cr packages or successful entrepreneur.
Most of the students are toppers since childhood and are used to be at the top so many refuse to accept that here they will fail ,it keeps them going.
Some students keep themselves motivated after comparing themselves with other known students.Like student S-1 after seeing that S-2 is performing great [uptill 10th they were in competition(or were performing neck to neck)] will keep on working hard.
A very funny reason is,their comparison with a successful relative by their parents.Like his/her parents will keep on reminding the success story of that relative kid and will keep pushing the student.
Some student get instant motivation (whenever they are getting lazy) by imagining of their own face/fate on the day when the result will be declared.
Some students when they start preparing usually brag about their potential/intelligence (some of them even might have mocked someone successful in public). Now to save themselves from embarrassment they keep working very hard.
Many students do get attached with teacher(s) (specially with the one who might have shown some concern towards them or might have motivated them) and to be in good books of that teacher they study really hard.
In some cases i have seen miraculous improvement in some (not so bright)students after some incidence (two cases i can recall particularly in first case, unfortunately students father expired and the event transformed him beyond the imagination and in second case the student was rejected by his crush (Lol)).
In some cases if a student gets good marks in a test then it motivates him like anything and the new found confidence keeps him motivated throughout the year.Like i have seen a case where student was in last 10 ranks in the class of 70 for 45 months and somehow once he broke top 5 and then he never slipped below top-5,Simply miraculous.
On funny note,In kota many students stay with their mother and they have access to the greatest motivator for Indian students that is Mummys chappal (mothers slipper).Though now a days it is getting out of the trend.
The irony is many of the above mentioned points also work as demotivator for other set of students.
See, if you want motivation from outside or frome someone else then that motivation will be gone in a a month or even a week. The real motivation is something that you have to find from yourself from inside.Ask yourself why you want to crack this exam and give yourself a motive and a purpose. It can for yourself, for your parents or anyone.Have a reason that will not allow you to sleep until you not give your 100%.Then only your motivation will last long and eventually you will crack jee.

Hello Arul,
JEE Mains is a really tough examination. Every year, there is a strong competition among the students. However, it may be difficult but it is possible to crack it if you dedicate your time to studies and work hard.
Starting with your preparations, do your subject wise chapters properly. Specially, focus on important chapters from which 3-5 questions are repeated and also focus on scoring chapters. Try solving regular tests of MCQ types. Solve sums and problems using the short cut methods and avoid wasting time to calculate to get an accurate value. Try getting a value close to the answer. Go through previous years question papers so that you have a brief idea about the paper pattern and time management.
All the best :)
