If it is according to placements and package the CSE is the best branch right now.EEE, mechanical and civil are evergreen which have equal placement ratio in private and government sectors. The package depends upon your talent and the college. Also, ECE is a demanding branch providing placements in core and software sectors.
Now, branches like Chemical, Metallurgy, Marine, Biotechnology, Geoinformatics, Instrumentation assure good placements completely depending upon the college you joined and then your talent. However, chemical, metallurgy, Geoinformatics students can pursue government jobs(PSU's) through GATE score.
