FIITJEE
ALLEN
RESONANCE
Hello Tushar Yashawant Kamdi. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.
I would first like to clear the misconception that coaching institutes are an absolute necessary to crack JEE.
First up, what do you mean by 'cracking JEE'? Is it getting into the IITs or getting a decent rank to go into the top colleges apart from the IITs like the NITs, DTU, etc.?
In my brothers case, though he didn't attend any coaching classes, he did use Vidyamandir's DLP class notes and I should say that they were very useful for him and for me to get into DTU, a premier college in Delhi.
Sure, the tips and the strategies the teachers give may go a long way in helping you to crack JEE Advanced, but, it ultimately comes down to you.
- Are you easy to listen to the teacher?
- Are you ready to prepare for 15 hours in a day?
- Are you ready to go through tireless sessions of exams and classes?
- Are you ready to throw away your TV and your phone for 2 years?
- Are you ready to balance both Boards and JEE?
If the answer to all these questions is yes, then please join the integrated program of any coaching institute like FIITJEE, Allen, etc.
Hope this helps you to make a wise and informed decision and all the best!
IT IS THE STORY OF EVERY THIRD TEENAGER IN OUR COUNTRY I GUESS
After going through a full phase of hard work and struggle of 2 years during JEE preparation, I have realised that coaching is infact necessary for getting a decent rank in JEE. Although, I have known examples of students who have scored 2 digit ranks & are known to have attended no coaching classes but exceptions do exist.
There are two things. 1) Qualifying JEE & 2) getting a decent rank. If you just wanna qualify JEE with any rank, then you may be able to do so without coaching. But if you wanna get a decent rank, coaching becomes almost necessary in general.
Problem Solving:No doubt, you can do self study and learn the topics, grasp the concepts and all. But then comes the problem solving part. You may pick up any book, start solving questions and then the problem arises. If you get stuck at a question, you need a JEE expert on that subject to help you clarify it. Suppose you are able to solve the question, even then there must be some mentor to tell you whether your solution is the shortest or are there better solutions.
Competition:No doubt, understanding the concepts is necessary, but for competing in such an exam like JEE, you must be in a competitive environment in the entire duration of preparation. There are students who have great command over the subjects but are not able to perform in the exam. These types of weakness come out through the exams you give in the coaching centres and then you can analyse your weaknesses & compare yourself with the other students in your batch. Then, there are AITS tests where you can see where you stand on the national level & adjust your preparation level accordingly. Tests are the major ways to check whether your way of preparation is upto the mark or needs some improvement.
Keeps you Organised:The JEE syllabus is extremely huge and without proper management, you wont be able to keep all the things in mind. The syllabus plans of coaching institutes keep you guided and organised. They keep forcing you to revise previous portions, keep studying new topics through pressure of quizzes & tests , hence keep you well organised & ensure proper rendering of 2 years worth of syllabus to your mind.
Hence, if you are aiming for a good rank, then just understanding the concepts would do no good. A good rank is a result of many other things like mentioned above & these are provided by coaching institutions. However, its not that they will help you throughout the way, the main fight has to be fought by you through self study, taking tests
Following factors contributes to the success:
The regular routine of classes help student to grasp knowledge easily. The questions which are provided in class are some of the best questions that are asked in past iit JEE papers. Methods explained in detailed so that if any other question which is related to previous one can be easily solvable. They give booklet which contains different exercises starting from some basic questions to next higher level.Conduct test every weekend so that you can judge yourself and get to know about your week topics. Most important factor that contribute is environment. In class every student is attentive and want to get as much as he can.Sometime counsellor also give advice how to learn and practice question. Also they know about which topic is having more weightage so that more time can be given by a student to that particular topic.
Actually coaching is not only a factor, your health, your hostel environment, your diet all plays an important role for getting success in iitjee.
