NTA will administer 27 domain-specific exams , 13 language tests, one of which is mandatory, and an additional 19 languages that are optional for students. Every candidate will be required to attempt at least one language from Section 1A. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and English are among the 13 options. Languages in section 1B are optional for students pursuing undergraduate degrees in languages other than those listed in section 1A. French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese are some of them.
Given the wide range of subjects available through state boards, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Indian School Certificate exam (ISC), the NTA has permitted students to take courses that are closely related to subjects in Class 12. according to the notice, If the subject to be studied in the undergraduate course is not available from the list of 27 domain-specific subjects being offered, the candidate may choose the subject closest to his/her choice, for example, for biochemistry, the candidate may choose biology.
