Course Overview

Swayam’s Robotics: Basics and Selected Advanced Concepts certification course is a 12-week, elective learning programme, built to familiarise students with robotics’ introductory and advanced areas. The curriculum’s initial stages cover robotics’ introduction, its technology, offering a unified treatment for analysis and modeling of hybrid, parallel, and serial manipulators, using Denavit-Hartenberg’s parameters. Learners also study inverse and direct kinematics of parallel and serial robots, and their associated mobility and workspace concepts.

IISc Bangalore has curated the Robotics: Basics and Selected Advanced Concepts programme. It also uses hardware and experiments developed by the institute’s research students themselves. For a real-time hands-on experience, the course facilitates students to work on their hardware experiments and software simulations.

The Robotics: Basics and Selected Advanced Concepts certification syllabus continue with explaining velocity, Jacobian matrix, singularities’ concepts, linear control, model-based control, deriving motion equations via the Lagrangian matrix, and numerous other vital topics. Aspirants also learn about advanced areas like wheeled mobile robots’ analysis and modelling, cable-driven micro-robots, deployable structures, etc. Through all these, candidates become fluent in fully controlling robots and this subject’s higher-level concepts. Post-completion, they can also register to earn Swayam’s e-verified certificates.
