    College Infrastructure

Our hostel and mess totally good but although we don't have air-conditioning in our hostel. Overall, one enjoys a lot with friends in IITD's hostels. Our hostels are divided into various branches, each having a seperate mess,LAN,and Wi-Fi access with good browsing speed.

    College life is best.

    College Infrastructure

Coming to the infrastructure,Lecture hall complex was available. There are bunch of opportunities in the sports area. General championship competitions were popular.Air-conditioners were also provided.classrooms are fantastic and very clean and neat.

Best College and best decision to choose IIT Delhi.

Actually my biggest aim is to pursue mechanical engineering, but my rank didn't satisfy the cut off for this branch in IIT Delhi. The faculty are very highly qualified done Masters and Ph.D. from foreign universities in their various fields. Hostel facilities are below average. Meal quality is good. The hostel is randomly assigned to freshers.

Have a question related to IIT Delhi ?

When the students who have just qualified the "joint csir-ugc net december 2022 - june 2023" can apply for PhD in IIT Delhi?

Candidates who qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam held in December 2022 - June 2023 wouldn't be eligible to apply for PhD programs at IIT Delhi based solely on their NET score.

IIT Delhi conducts its own independent entrance exams and interview process for PhD admissions. Qualifying the CSIR-UGC NET doesn't automatically guarantee admission into an IIT Delhi PhD program.

The CSIR-UGC NET exam primarily serves as a qualifying exam for eligibility to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship positions in Indian universities and colleges. While qualifying NET can enhance your application for PhD programs, it's not the sole selection criterion.

Question : Read the passage and answer the following questions.
IIT Delhi researchers have designed and fabricated a device that can generate electricity from water drops, raindrops, water streams, and even from ocean waves using "Triboelectric Effect" and "Electrostatic Induction". The device is called "Liquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator". The generated electricity can be stored in batteries for further use. Triboelectric effect is a known phenomenon for a long time, and in this effect, charges are generated when two surfaces are in friction. The best example we see are sparkling lights when we move the blankets/jackets.

The device has a very simple structure consisting of specially designed nanocomposite polymers and contact electrodes and can generate a few Milliwatt (mW)power, which is sufficient to power small electronic devices like watches, digital thermometers, radio frequency transmitters, healthcare sensors, pedometers. When compared to conventional methods, such as the use of the piezoelectric effect, the present device can generate significantly more electricity.

The researchers successfully incorporated nanostructures into a polymer matrix, which enhanced the film's surface roughness, polarizability, and hydrophobicity, among other characteristics, as a result. Due to the enhancement in the above property, the flexible film is used to fabricate the device where raindrops have just to slide down and can generate electricity. The artificially created rough surface allows to generate more charge and superhydrophobic properties of the solid surface help to roll the water drop without getting stick to the surface.

The IIT Delhi research team also explored the underlying mechanism of the electricity generated when the water drop comes in contact with the solid surface and it is shown that saline water drops generate more electricity. The researchers also showed that the device can even work with ocean waves, where the water is saline, and through the ocean waves contacting the surface of nanocomposite polymer film, electricity is generated.

    Question:
What is the name of the device which is being talked about in the passage?

Option 1: Solid-liquid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator

Option 2: Solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator

Option 3: Liquid-Induction Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator

Option 4: Liquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator

Correct Answer: Liquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator

Solution : The correct option is 4

    Liquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator.
    Explanation -

Let's focus on the following passage lines:
-- The device is called "Liquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator"
    - In light of the foregoing statement, we can conclude that option 4 is the correct response.
