I am clear with my goal I want to be a general surgeon .But is it worth it to study in a private medical college (fee is nominal same as govt college)and complete MBBS early and focus on gaining practical knowledge as much as possible and a good pg seat (or)isit worth it to takeadropforaiims
Hello aspirant,
The only difference between a private medical college and a government medical college is the fee structure and clinical exposure to some extent. Private colleges too are at par with the government ones in various aspects and even better when it comes to infrastructure. But as you mentioned, the fee is nominal, so I suggest taking admission this year and not taking a drop as the competition will only increase in the coming year, so will the number of students attempting the exam. You can focus and dedicate an ample amount of time to your MBBS subjects and then go for your NEET SS exam and secure a good rank.
Hope it helps!

After completing PG in medicine should we still study to work as Surgeon?
Hi Prashant,
If you want to become a surgeon, you need to complete your Undergraduate MBBS degree first. Then, you need to do a Postgraduate course in a surgery-related field i.e. you need to do a Master of Surgery (MS) course. After completing your MS course, you can start working as a surgeon.
