Does Biology is complosary for the biochemical engineering??
Hey Sejal
B.Tech. Biochemical Engineering is an undergraduate Biochemical Engineering Course. The course is of 4 years. Unit Processes that includes biological molecules or organisms, such as Bio-Reactors are designed and constructed with the help of this course. This course is Technology, Science, and Engineering driven. The concepts of Enzyme technology, Genetics, Industrial Microbiology, Biochemistry, cell and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bio-informatics, Phase Equilibrium Thermodynamics & Property Estimation, Thermodynamics and Biochemical Reaction Engineering has been introduced in this course. Progress in processes associated from raw material preparation to product recovery in the chemical engineering aspect of the development of biological processes is been promoted through this course. In nature, the course is career orienting. The course aims to progress in food and environmental protection industries and relevant industries to healthcare/medical.
The basic eligibility for this is that you must have passed 10+2 with minimum qualifying marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as core subjects. Independent entrance tests for Biochemical Engineering are also held by various state, central, and private universities which mostly require 50% as the prerequisite to appear for the test.
Hello dear candidate.
No, Biology isn't a compulsory subject. You may apply for Biochemical Engineering even if you have Maths as your major subject along with Physics and Chemistry.
However, if you have Biology, it might be beneficial for you for various reasons.
