What next ? After qualifying jee main
Hello Adnan,
Though I'm not sure what you mean by "qualifying" JEE so I am going to tell you the two possible things that can happen after JEE Mains. Clearing JEE main or if you get a chance into top 1.2 lakh candidates that will make you eligible to take JEE advance, the only test through which you can join IIT, the Institute each and every engineering student aspirant aspires of in our country. If you can obtain good AIR in JEE advance you will get a seat in any of the 23 IITs and also some other renowned institutes namely IISc, IIST. If however, you are not able to obtain a seat in any of the IITs through JEE advance, you can still join any NIT/IIIT/GFTI on the basis of your score in JEE main.
But, if you have qualified JEE Main but missed the cut-off required to appear for JEE Advanced, then you should prepare for JEE Main Counselling. There are possibilities to get good engineering college based on your JEE Main score. Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA holds JEE Main Counselling in every year for the purpose of seat allotment.
The next thing you should be doing is prioritize and make a list of colleges along with preferred branch. Explore the details of each college and the scope of the branch of interest.
Following are the steps to follow for the whole counseling procedure -
Step 1: Online Registration
- Click on the link of JoSAA under Official Website and enter JEE Main Roll Number & Password and Login
- Read the instructions carefully and click on “I Agree”
- Fill in the required details in the JoSAA Counselling Form
- Select the Declaration and click on Submit
- Verify all the furnished details and click on “Confirm Registration” button
Step 2: Online Choice Filling and Locking
- Select choice of colleges and programs (from the list you previously prepared).
- Lock the choices before the last date (available shortly).
- Choice Locking can be done after each round of JEE Main Counselling.
Step 3: JoSAA 2019 Seat Allotment
JoSAA will take into account all of the details provided by you including your rank, category, availability of seats before allocating the highest possible seat according to your choices.
Step 4: Seat Acceptance Fee Payment and Document Verification
Pay the Seat Acceptance fee for the allotted seats through Net Banking/e-Challan. All the documents will be verified at the reporting center.
Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted College
The final step in JEE Main 2019 Counselling is reporting to the assigned institutes with original certificates and documents on the allotted date and time slot.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Once you qualified the JEE mains then there are two options are available one is going for the NIT or IIIT colleges through JEE mains score another option you can try for the JEE advance and clear the exam then you will get the IIT college
So it all depends on your score and as well as your interest
