Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) Hyderabad has been operating under the guidance of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of HRD (MHRD), and Government of India (GOI), since its inception back in 1964. The operations conducted by the institute have also been observed through the ranking system in India, and recently IPE Hyderabad has been participating in the ranking system proposed by NIRF and Careers360. Moreover, the institution has also been facilitated by numerous awards and recognitions, both nationally and internationally, and has recently been participating in the ranking system of MHRD, known as the NIRF ranking system. Thus, in the recent upgrades, the IPE has been ranked by NIRF and Careers360, along with other agencies operating in India.

NIRF Ranking, an acronym for National Institutional Ranking Framework is announced each year in India under the guidance of the Ministry of Education (MoE) that list the top 100 entries in a ranking system in different domains such as, management, engineering, pharmacy, etc., to elucidate the top notches institutions or universities choices for students in various categories.
The ranking announced by NIRF under the supervision of MoE is performed on the basis of proposed parameters by the MoE itself. The parameters include different guidelines broadly on five categories namely: Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Peer Perception.
