Alpha College of Engineering, Bangalore, has a strenuous and competitive admission process for aspiring engineering students. The institute offers four full-time Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programs, all taking four years of study, including Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Electronics & Communication Engineering; and Civil Engineering. On a general basis, admission to Alpha College of Engineering is through the Common Entrance Test (CET), which is conducted by the Government of Karnataka. It is usually conducted in February or March, and their notifications are published in all leading newspapers. Besides that, the college also admits students based on the Comedk Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET).
To be eligible, students must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subject areas compulsory. A merit list is prepared taking into account combined performance in the PUC/XII standard and through the entrance examination scores. The admission cycle usually begins after declaration of CET and COMEDK UGET results. Dates and deadlines shall be communicated on their official websites according to the prospective student's desirable entrance to check.
Application Process
Alpha College of Engineering, Bangalore, follows an application method that is inclusive of the following steps:
1. Attempt the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) or COMEDK UGET: Candidates were asked to register for either of them for entrance tests and then take them. While KCET is usually conducted in May, COMEDK UGET operates in June.
2. Result Checking: Candidates can now verify their scores and ranking on the concerned exam websites once declared.
3. Counseling Application: Successful candidates will be granted admission to the consulting process set up by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (for KCET) or COMEDK (for UGET).
4. Document Verification: Candidates are required to attend the document verification process with all appropriate documents, mark sheets, entrance exam scorecards, and other required certificates.
5. Choice Filling: Candidates shall during the counseling process fill in their preferred college and course.
6. Seat Allotment: Candidates will be allocated to respective seats based on their merit and the choices filled in by them.
7. Fee Payment: Candidates are then required to pay the fees to confirm admission once they are allotted seats in Alpha College of Engineering.
8. Report to the College: Candidates must report to Alpha College of Engineering with all original documents for final admission formalities once the seat has been allotted and the fees paid.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.E. Mechanical Engineering: Admission to the B.E. Mechanical Engineering program is based on the candidate's performance in the Karnataka CET or COMEDK UGET. As mentioned earlier, the Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Government of Karnataka to fill up their admissions into different professional courses. There is a merit list created based on the overall performance in the PUC/XII std and the entrance examination scores.
B.E. Computer Science and Engineering: The admission process for the B.E. Computer Science and Engineering program follows an identical procedure as that of the Mechanical Engineering. Therefore, it is necessary for all candidates to take up either the Karnataka CET or COMEDK UGET. Final selection follows the merit list prepared based on the performance from the entrance examination scores and through academic performance in PUC/XII std.
B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering: To get admission into B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, one must qualify in the Karnataka CET or COMEDK UGET. The selection process is similar to other engineering programs since there is a merit list prepared based on both the performance in the entrance exam and PUC/XII std.
B.E. Civil Engineering: A candidate seeking admission into the Civil Engineering program has to take the Karnataka CET or COMEDK UGET. The Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka and a merit list is prepared based on the combined performance in CET and PUC/XII std.
