There is as such no comparison between first and second attempt on the basis of difficulty level of the paper. It is just in the mind of the aspirants that first attempt will be easier than second attempt.
So, do not focus on the difficulty level , just prepare properly following practice of the mock tests and analysing it . But yes there are shifts which are a bit tougher than other shifts . See you need to admit that some part of your performance also depends on your luck. If your luck did not favour , you would get a tough paper than normal.
