Of course ! You can appear even if you are in the first year of your B.Sc course but just for experience. Even if you qualify for the exam, you won't be able to get admission in any institute since you can't complete your B.Sc in first or 2nd year. And my advice to you is that do appear in the exam for your experience specially you will get an idea about the questions.
