According to laws of the state, 17% of the seats are reserved for the backward classes in the state medical, engineering, pg and other disciplines in state government colleges.
This 17% is further divided into two parts:-
OBC-A — 10%
OBC-B — 7%
So, yes, OBC (category A) applicable for quota in West Bengal medical colleges.
