According to your query it totally depends on your determination and step towards future success. It's quite clear for you that medical line is such a line where you give your best during studies and at the end you also get the full payment of it through wages or placement packages. I mean if you are determined to get medical line then prefer to take one year drop because many of us take drop so it's fine. Prefer to take wise decision.
